I created first installation with the glowing moon at one of the festivals of contemporary art in 2003. I wanted to make a picture of the reality of my favorite artist – Belgian surrealist Rene Magritte. There is title of the work “The Sixteenth of September 1956” or “Crescent moon in crone of the tree”. After that I brought the moon to the roof of my studio on a skyscraper on the South of Moscow, where it shone to me personally, and brightened my loneliness. In Russian fairy tales we often see a crescent moon, it is animated, it is the character of Russian mythology. I remember the rhyme from my childhood: Crescent came out of the mist, took a knife from his pocket. End then it is easier to travel with a thin moon...
